ABOUT US
A Quiet Space for Stories
Miloth Mama is a quiet digital space shaped by mythology, heritage, travel, archaeology, nature, memory and reflective storytelling.
Here, ancient temples stand beside personal essays, moonlit journeys meet forgotten histories, and mythology continues to breathe through landscapes, rivers, ruins and everyday life.
This website was created as an archive of stories — stories discovered in books, monuments, journeys, conversations, silence, and the changing skies above us.
About Me
I am an archaeologist by profession and passionate individual on the core who loves to explore, create, and inspire. Based out of Agra (Uttar Pradesh, India), I was born at Bengaluru and educated at Kolkata, Nagpur and Vadodara. I come from a diverse background; a potpourri of language, religion, culture and traditions. My interests range from travel and food to wellness, fashion, and everything in between. Writing is an expression of freedom for me and also a healthy outlet for my creative and inquisitive mind. My pet babies and plant babies give me the most joy in my life. I love to spend quiet evenings sipping a cup of warm tea with my husband and a book.
The Story Behind “Miloth”
The name “Miloth” comes from my beloved pets:
Mi for Mishti, our female 4 years old Indie dog,
Lo for Loki, our 5 years old male Indie cat,
and Th for Thor, our 5 years old female Indie cat; Loki’s sister.
They are not merely pets, but companions who quietly shaped the emotional heart of this website.
The idea for Miloth Mama has been simmering in my mind since a long time. It started as a rudimentary blog in 2016; known by ‘Kaleidoscope’ and the old website address was standardshots.wordpress.com. However, since then, this website has been given a fresh look and a new address by adhering to the changing times and flavours.

What You’ll Find Here
I believe stories do not exist only in books. They survive in ruined temples, railway journeys, rivers at dusk, old photographs, monsoon skies, forgotten sculptures, sacred chants, mountain roads, and the quiet moments that shape everyday life.
Miloth Mama is an attempt to preserve and share those stories slowly and thoughtfully. Our content is thoughtfully curated to provide value, inspiration, and a touch of creativity. Here’s a peek at what you can expect:
- Mythology & Sacred Narratives: Step into a world where ancient stories still breathe through temples, scriptures, rituals, skies, rivers, and memory. This section explores Hindu mythology, sacred symbolism, Navagraha traditions, Puranic tales, spiritual philosophy, and forgotten narratives that continue to shape the cultural imagination of India. From the stories of Surya and Chandra to cosmic symbolism hidden within ancient texts, these essays attempt to rediscover mythology not merely as religion, but as living human experience, psychological insight, and timeless storytelling.
- Heritage & Archaeology: History survives not only in books, but also in weathered stones, ruined gateways, ancient sculptures, forgotten landscapes, and silent monuments. As an archaeologist, I have always been fascinated by the stories preserved within material culture and heritage spaces. This section journeys through India’s archaeological sites, historic cities, museums, inscriptions, forts, stepwells, monasteries, and lesser-known heritage destinations — exploring the intersection of history, memory, architecture, and cultural identity.
- Temple Architecture: Indian temples are far more than places of worship. They are sacred geometries carved in stone — blending mythology, astronomy, philosophy, engineering, sculpture, ritual, and symbolism into living architecture. This section explores the beauty and meaning behind temple design across India, from the magnificent Sun Temples of Konark and Modhera to forgotten shrines hidden in forests and villages. Through these essays, I hope to uncover the artistic brilliance, spiritual symbolism, and cultural continuity embedded within India’s sacred architecture.
- Reflective Travel Essays: Travel is not merely movement across geography; it is also movement through memory, emotion, silence, observation, and self-discovery. These travel essays are written slowly — shaped by landscapes, conversations, changing skies, railway journeys, temple bells, mountain roads, quiet cafés, and fleeting moments that often linger longer than destinations themselves. From heritage towns and sacred rivers to Himalayan valleys and forgotten ruins, this section explores travel as lived experience rather than checklist tourism.
- Nature & Conscious Living: There is wisdom hidden in forests, rivers, changing seasons, moonlight, birdsong, gardens, mountains, and quiet evenings. This section reflects on nature, mindful living, emotional wellbeing, simplicity, sustainability, spirituality, and the relationship between human beings and the natural world. Through reflections on consciousness, slow living, environmental awareness, and everyday beauty, these essays explore the possibility of living with greater attention, gentleness, and meaning in an increasingly restless world.
- Pets, Memory & Everyday Life: Some of life’s deepest joys arrive quietly — through animals, routines, conversations, books, tea, monsoon evenings, old photographs, shared silences, and ordinary moments that slowly become memory. Named after my beloved pets Mishti, Loki, and Thor, Miloth Mama was born from this deeply personal space of affection, companionship, and emotional connection. This section celebrates pets, home, nostalgia, personal reflections, everyday stories, and the small moments that often shape us more profoundly than grand events ever do.
