Here is a short poem I wrote when I was 14 in 2007 and sent it to my father. It was the time when I was just learning how to use email and getting familiar with technology. Reminds me of my childhood…
“Ooh! the lights went out,
I glitter like a polished diamond,
I break the darkness in the room,
And scatter the rays in all directions,
Each appears to be a ray of hope.
Seconds come and seconds go,
I continue to shine alone in the dark,
Prove an inspiration to the lean and depressed,
And spread the light to every nook and corner.
By and by time passes,
My flames lean unsteadily,
But I continue to challenge darkness,
Prove an inspiration to the lean and depressed,
Tell them to never give up,
Though they go , though they go,
Scatter the rays in all directions,
Each appears to be a ray of hope,
Each appears to be a ray of hope.
